Paying Your Bill
After you have met with the Financial Aid Office to determine your eligibility and award package, the remaining balance will be due by the payment deadline each semester. For traditional students, the deadlines are as follows:
- Fall 2010: August 2 deadline
Please note that these deadlines apply to traditional students only. Students in the Access program should contact Student Accounts to inquire about payment deadlines.
Prompt payment will ensure that you are able to begin classes on time. Students who have not met the payment deadline will have their schedules dropped and will not be eligible to re-register until they have satisfied their bills with the Business Office.
We recognize that many students are unable to pay their bills in full before the start of the semester. We are pleased to offer our Tuition Payment Plan to allow students to make payments in installments throughout the semester. More information about the payment plans available to you can be found here.
You can view your student account information or make payments online via the CAMS Student Portal. You may also pay in the Business Office, or over the phone with a credit card, during regular office hours (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday). We accept cash, check, money order or credit card (American Express, Discover, MasterCard and Visa).
Our student accounts staff is here to help you through this process. Please contact us at 404-460-2482 or by e-mail with any questions or concerns you may have.
Financial Aid
Very few families can afford to send a student to college without financial aid. ACC’s Financial Aid Office is more than willing to work with students and their parents or guardians to come up with a financial aid package that will meet the student's needs. Nearly 96 percent of ACC students receive some sort of financial aid, including scholarships, need-based grants and education loans. In order to ensure you receive the financial aid you need, please be sure to complete your FAFSA and other paperwork on time each year. If you have questions, please contact the Financial Aid Office at 404-460-2482 or by e-mail.
Tuition Payment Plan
A payment plan is available to students who are unable to meet their financial obligations through financial aid and prepayment of their bills.
Students participating in one of these plans will be required to pay via automatic debit of a bank account or automatic payment via credit card. All previous balances must be paid before students can participate in the payment plan. A $35 enrollment fee applies. Please contact the Student Financial Services Office for more information at 404-460-2482 or by e-mail.
Plans must be applied for in advance of each semester’s payment deadline, and do not carry over multiple terms.
To apply for a payment plan, please fill out the appropriate form and submit it to the Business Office.
Paying for Books
Atlanta Christian College has partnered with eCampus.com to allow students to use excess financial aid to purchase textbooks. Students will be notified if they are eligible to purchase books with student account credit balances via their ACC e-mail accounts.
The ACC eCampus.com virtual bookstore can be accessed by choosing “Online Bookstore” from the Quicklinks drop-down menu at the top of any page on our web site.
Refund Schedule
Refunds remaining on student accounts after book purchases will be issued when the money is received from the source by the College. Refunds will not be made until ACC is in possession of the funds. Students should not depend on receiving their refund checks by a certain date, as refunds will not be available before the end of the seventh week of the semester at the earliest.
The last day to withdraw from classes and still receive a full refund for the fall 2010 semester is August 24. Refunds will be issued as follows:
- Tuition and activity fees: first week, 100%
- Room and board: refunds will be made according to the number of weeks in residence (a minimum of six weeks' room and board will be charged)
For complete information, please refer to the current College catalog.
Why Did Tuition Increase This Year?
At most colleges, students and parents can expect a modest tuition increase each academic year. This is due to factors such as inflation, increased cost of providing educational services, and so on. At Atlanta Christian College, you can rest assured that we will always do our best to keep the cost of a quality Christian education as low as possible.
In comparison with many private institutions, ACC’s tuition costs are low. According to the College Board, the national average for the total cost to attend a four-year private college in 2009-10 was $35,636 – more than $14,000 higher than ACC’s cost for the same academic year.
The amount students and families pay covers only part of the cost of an ACC education. Because ACC is a private college, it does not receive state-funded aid other than student scholarships, such as HOPE. ACC must rely on private support from various donors: individuals, alumni, churches, corporations and foundations.
Your investment in an ACC education is a wise one! You are receiving a high-quality, Christian, private college education at a much lower cost than at other private colleges and universities.
